What is Grants.gov?
Grants.gov is the U.S. government's official, free website for finding and applying for federal discretionary grants. It lists posted, forecasted, closed and archived opportunities across all grant-making agencies, and many agencies accept applications through Grants.gov Workspace.
With a Grants.gov account you can receive a nightly email of opportunities that were posted or modified, based on saved searches or on specific opportunities you subscribe to. Subscribing to a specific opportunity also notifies you when its application package changes; saved-search emails do not.
Visit Grants.govWhat RallyProp monitors on Grants.gov
- Opportunities in the Science and Technology and Other Research and Development funding category.
- Posted opportunities from the last 12 months and all forecasted opportunities.
- Checked three times a day. New opportunities, status changes (including forecast to posted), date changes, funding changes and description changes generate alerts for matching Intel Lanes.
- Each opportunity gets an AI summary and technology tags, shown next to SBIR/STTR topics, SAM.gov R&D contracts and OTA calls.
03 / Which to use
When should you use each?
Use RallyProp when
- You want R&D grants in the same feed as SBIR/STTR topics, SAM.gov R&D contracts and OTA calls.
- You want push alerts on your phone and AI summaries instead of a nightly email digest.
- You track several technology areas or clients and want a separate, trainable monitor for each.
Use Grants.gov when
- You are preparing or submitting an application through Grants.gov Workspace.
- You pursue grants outside science and technology, such as education, health services or community programs.
- You need to know when an application package or its forms change for a specific opportunity.
Use both
Most R&D teams use both. Use RallyProp to spot matching R&D grants and forecasts early, then subscribe to the specific opportunity on Grants.gov so you are notified of application package changes, and submit through Grants.gov or the agency's designated system.
